I leave for Los Angeles in 2 days or so… Possibly for a month or possibly for nine. Obviously, I can come back and get my stuff if my job extends more than its initial tenure, but I’m losing my mind figuring out how to pack and where to live. If it were only a month, I could sublet and pay and leave. However, if it will last longer, I need to save as much as I can to get a real-life apartment. Plus, I don’t want to be a burden on my friends that are letting me crash at their places while I look for a home. Also: I need a secure location every Tuesday at 9, so that I can watch LOST. If I were a rock star, that would be in my rider.
That being said, all of this is due to the fact that I gave in to Northern California and bought a bicycle, which is pretty useless in LA (unless you’re looking to kill yourself).
Seriously, what do you pack for a month / 9 month stay in which you’ll be couch surfing for at least 2 weeks?
congratulations on the job offer!! I can't put into words how sorry I am that Oliver will have to stay with your parents. :( <3<3<3 xoxoxo
Thanks! He’s only going to be with them a month, so this might be my only chance in 4 and a half years of living in LA where I can play after work, maybe try dating again and hit the gym a lot. If the gig gets extended, I’ll come grab him (or have my parents drive him down w/some stuff), and we’ll go back to our old routine of hiking, work, wine, TV, sleep [repeat]
That being said, I’m totally getting a yellow lab stuffed animal to sleep with when I get back into town.

If this is not the internal musing of a possibly immortal creature wishing for his own end, I do not know what is. Also: I am damn well convinced those dudes are different versions of the same guy/deity.
